So it turns out that Paul Teutul Sr. and the rest of the Orange County Choppers were in financial distress because everyone was spending too much money. Think about it, they were used to having lots of money when the show was on air, and once that money stopped steadily coming in, they still kept spending.

While the show was on air, the staff actually grew by some 100 workers. Whoa! No one was ready to handle that large amount of staff pouring in! I mean, Mikey was paid around $10 an hour with overtime, while Paul Sr. made approximately $80,000 a year.
