Then: John Walmsley
When he was a young boy, John Walmsley was featured in numerous television shows and even lent his voice to Christopher Robin in the Disney cartoon called Winnie the Pooh. Of course, this happened before he was cast as Jason Walton on The Waltons. The character could not be any more different from John-Boy, his older brother. Despite their differences, they were always close. In the show, the character enjoyed making music on the guitar, harmonica, and piano. When season three rolled in, he even attended the Kleinberg Conservatory of Music. Jason got a job playing music in a honky-tonk. Like the character, Walmsley was also a songwriter and instrumentalist.
Now: John Walmsley
John Walmsley would eventually come back for all the reunion projects of The Waltons from the ‘80s to the ‘90s. He even made music for the Christmas albums of The Waltons! When he finished The Waltons, Walmsley decided it was the time to focus on working as a composer instead. You will hear his music in 7th Heaven, 8 Simple Rules, and Secret Life of the American Teenager. John Walmsmey happens to be a veteran of the studio and worked with notable musicians such as Al Jardine, David Koz, Greg Allman, The Doobie Brothers, Merle Haggard, Richard Marx, Peter and Gordon, and Strawberry Alarm Clock. Pretty impressive, huh?
