Axl Rose Then
In 1987, Guns’n’Roses, led by the lithe and limber, controversial-but-not-just-for-wearing-bike-shorts-on-stage Axl Rose, were crowned the undisputed kings of intricate rock music. “Appetite for Destruction” has sold more over 30 million copies worldwide, while “Use Your Illusion” has sold an additional 35 million. Rose was renowned at the time for inciting riots and throwing liquor bottles at audiences during live performances, in addition to boasting an exceptional singing voice. However, the project crumbled rapidly owing to interpersonal conflicts. The band remained on sabbatical for a long period before releasing “Chinese Democracy,” which did not sell as well as their label had intended.

In 2016, he became the touring frontman for AC/DC, and Guns-n-Roses just reformed and planned a world tour. Axl, you’ve got it!
