Lil’ Kim Then
Brooklyn-born Lil’ Kim (born Kimberly Denise Jones) began rapping while still a teenager. Her major break came in 1995 when she joined forces with the late Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher Wallace) and his crew Junior M.A.F.I.A. At the time, she was only 19 years of age. Kim and Biggie began dating and continued dating intermittently until Biggie’s death in 1997. Lil’ Kim’s debut album, “Hard Core,” was released in 1996. The album was certified double platinum due to the inclusion of the producers’ number-one hits. Both of Kim’s subsequent platinum-certified albums established her as a great musical force.
Kim Now
The notorious B.I.G. said in a song titled Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems, “It’s like the more wealth we come through, the more issues we see,” Kim appears to have adhered to this adage despite her meteoric rise to popularity and the inevitable errors that accompanied it. In the years following her debut as an artist, she has had numerous legal and financial issues. Kim’s extreme facial plastic surgery is one of the most dramatic alterations she has undertaken. She hardly resembles the Lil’ Kim that we all adored in the 1990s.
