Due to a back ailment, Kacy had to take a break from her wrestling career. She returned after recovering, and her boyfriend supported her throughout her recuperation.

April Jeanette Mendez, better known as AJ Lee, is a professional wrestler, just as his boyfriend Phil Brooks, better known as CM Punk. They were married in June of 2014. They both retired from wrestling. Phil Brooks became a professional fighter in the UFC while his wife worked as an animal activist.
