18. King Kong (1933) – Rating: 98%

In 1933, King Kong astounded viewers and quickly won the respect of those in the industry. The movie is still recognized as possibly the best monster movie of all time, despite being released over 90 years ago. The movie made history at the time. It had never occurred to anyone to employ stop-motion effects in that way. The beast, when it came to Kong, wasn’t as amiable as depicted in more contemporary renditions. Although the tale of Kong is one that we are all familiar with, this unique story is the greatest in the series and a fantastic watching experience.
