Gene Tierney
Gene Tierney may not be as well-known as the other females on the list, but she made a significant impact on Hollywood. She is well recognized for her role in the film Laura. She was also nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the 1945 picture Leave Her to Heaven. Her final acting job was in The Pleasure Seekers, a 1964 film. She performed in a number of TV episodes over the next few decades before her away in 1971.
Carrie Fisher
Carrie Fisher is a role model for many women around the world. She did something that had never been seen before in film history. She inverted the traditional “damsel in distress” cliché by playing Princess Leia in Star Wars. She did so by portraying a strong woman who not only aided her alleged knights but also managed to flee the Death Star. This part had dominated her acting career, and she reprised it for the Disney sequels. She died tragically not long ago, however, she was still included in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker after her death.
