The neighbors took advantage of David’s kindness. He was the only one taking care of the gravel road, and his neighbors would sometimes laugh at him, thinking that he doesn’t really need to do such a thing but does anyway. They were so ungrateful instead of just being appreciative enough for David’s effort.
