Ernest “Ernie” Johnson Jr. is an in-studio and voice host for TBS’s Major League Baseball coverage. He followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, the late Ernie Johnson Sr., a former MLB pitcher and subsequently play-by-play announcer for the Atlanta Braves. He also hosts the TNT show “Inside the NBA” and appears frequently on NBA TV. Johnson covers the NCAA March Madness tournament for CBS Sports and Turner Sports. His professional highlights include hosting the FIFA World Cup on TNT as the principal studio anchor in 1990 and covering the MLB on TBS in 2020. Johnson is said to earn $5 million per year.
Lisa Salters – $200K
Lisa Salters’ association with ABC and its affiliates has earned her much acclaim, particularly for her coverage of the O.J Simpson trial. She worked for ESPN as a general assignment correspondent, covering the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the 2004 Olympic Games, and the 2006 Winter Olympics. Salters covered the NBA Finals for the NBA on NBC presentation in 2006. She worked alongside Booger McFarland and Joe Tessitore on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” broadcasts in 2018. Salters was nominated for a Sports Emmy for her coverage of the “Ray of Hope,” and she also makes a good living. She apparently earns $200K with $52K in sponsorships.
