The crew took a time to realize that this was a really young puppy rather than just an ordinary one. They were still unsure of how the little children got into the sewer at that point. They did not, however, have much time to reflect about it. They still needed to save more puppies!

One of them stated that the owner had opted to abandon the puppies in the sewer as they were working. The truth is that people frequently abandon their pups by the side of the road or in trash. With this knowledge, it did not seem improbable that someone had thrown trash into the storm drain.
