The couple’s wedding reception was lavish. Did you know they had 27 wedding cakes in total? David Avery designed and constructed the official cake. He was the Royal Navy Cooking School’s head baker. A portion of the 33-year-old cake was auctioned off for $1,375 in 2014.

The Secret Dress
The details of Diana’s gown were purposefully withheld from the press. The royal family and she only wanted the dress to be shown “the moment [Diana] stepped into the glass carriage at Clarence House.” Designers created three outfits for Diana in case news got out before the big day.
