Smith stated, “I feel terrible. There’s a pregnant lady with a little boy who’s down on her luck.” Who might have assumed that her gut feeling directed her in the right direction, exactly? What would’ve been thinking? Smith saw this pregnant beggar several times standing under the sun’s rays, begging for rent.

Smith figured that the woman was just really in search of income. It would have been hard for everyone to remain out there for a long time, let alone a pregnant woman, especially under the heat of the sun!
