A lot like the orders themselves, the fast-food industry typically moves at breakneck speed. Companies release new products even before customers can declare, “I’m lovin’ it.” Considering that, mistakes are bound to be made now and then. But what happens if orders are badly misunderstood and become inadvertently inedible? This happens all over the restaurant industry, from obscure franchises in other countries to billion-dollar chains, such as McDonald’s. There are cases when what’s ordered is so different from what arrives that you wonder if it was really a mistake or some kind of prank. While it might be a waste of money, at least it’s hilarious.

It’s not unusual for fast food buyers to tweak their orders. Sadly, for this customer, the chicken burger they ordered didn’t turn out as expected. Although they were pretty clear about asking for mayo both on the top and bottom of their burger, it seems like McDonald’s didn’t really understand what that meant. The one who made this had decided that the right thing to do was to put a giant blob of mayo on top of the bun. You win some, and you lose some.
