Gordon Liu
Hui Liu, better known by his stage name Gordon, rose to fame in the 1978 masterpiece The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin, which serves as the setting for Wu-Tang Clan’s debut album. As San Te transforms from a novice fighter to a folk hero, it’s the first Shaolin movie to display the monastery’s training procedures. The “Master Killer,” a favorite of Tarantino’s, appeared in two of the Kill Bill movies.

Sammo Hung
Hung, a cigar-smoking member of the Hong Kong new wave who revived the genre in the 1970s and 1980s, goes by the moniker “dai goh dai,” or “largest big brother.” He began his career as a child actor before becoming a director, producer, and well-known combat choreographer for actors like Jackie Chan and John Woo. Hung (who starred in Enter The Fat Dragon in 1978) has a large frame yet is remarkably athletic. Outside a nightclub in Kowloon, he was struck with a broken bottle, leaving him with a circular scar on his face.
