Fort Myers, Florida

Fort Myers is situated near the southern tip of Florida’s Gulf Coast, and continues to attract huge numbers of new residents. The city was the fastest-growing American city according to a detailed study by WalletHub which broke down trends including economic and population growth from 2010 to 2019. There are fewer than 100,000 people living in Fort Myers, so it is considered a “small” city. However, its population jumped almost 32% in the past ten years, from about 62,000 to roughly 82,000 residents in that time, according to Stacker. This idyllic town’s temperatures hardly ever go below the mid-50s, and WalletHub ranked it first for income growth, jobs, and poverty rate decrease.
