Hal Wallis helped the two men get signed with Paramount Pictures. Both Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis were on their way to becoming movie stars. In 1949, they made their debut in a comedy called My Friend Irma. This was followed up by a few more comedic movies. In 1956, Hollywood or Bust proved to be their final collaboration.

Even though they stopped working together, Jerry Lewis did not fade into obscurity. In fact, he kept establishing himself in the entertainment industry by starring in a bunch of comedy movies.
