He Married Loni Anderson
His personal life had been pretty eventful as well. In 1988, the actor got married to actress Loni Anderson. They adopted a little boy called Quinton. Sadly, the marriage was not meant to last. As a matter of fact, the divorce between the two Hollywood stars became known as one of the most tumultuous celebrity breakups of the time. They relentlessly attacked each other in the media.
It Got Nasty Between Them
For one thing, Burt Reynolds said that Loni Anderson was a promiscuous and unfit mother. Meanwhile, she said that he had violent tendencies. The actress even arranged to have a childminder present each time their child visited him. In 1995, Anderson spoke to the San Francisco Chronicle and explained, “Quinton is small and I want him to be protected.” The nanny refused to go there since, as Anderson said, Reynolds “[had thrown] a chair at her.” That does not sound good at all.
