Jane Lynch

For several decades, Glee star Jane Lynch has been a voice for tall women and the LGBTQ community in Hollywood. Unfortunately, she endured an angst-filled childhood as a result of her differences. In 2011, she told Vogue, “When I was growing up, just like in Glee, you had to be what they considered ‘normal’ or face a Slushee in the face.” I didn’t want to be excessively tall. I was trying to avoid being too outspoken. I had no desire to be gay.”

Tilda Swinton

Tilda Swinton was described in 2014 by Esquire as “impossibly tall, goddess-like, ethereal, androgynous, and lit from within.” All of these descriptions are accurate, as Swinton has built a career on looking unlike the majority of other women in Hollywood. She was an ideal choice for the role of Jadis the White Witch in Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. How come? To be fair, it didn’t take much camera manipulation to make her appear more than a foot taller than her co-stars.
