Dr. Thompson quickly evaluated Daisy’s condition after arriving at her stall. He was able to discern that she was in labor and that the foal was about to be born. Mrs. Johnson was puzzled by this. How could Daisy have become pregnant if no stallion had been in the same stall with her or even in the same meadow?
