John’s heart ached for his daughter. He knew she could be shy or lost in her world, but he never imagined it would be this awful. He assured the teacher that he would discuss it with his daughter as soon as he got home. But on his way out of the school, he noticed something that surprised him.

She looked like Caroline
On the playground, a girl who resembled his daughter was playing. She was a little taller than she was, but other than that, it was a terrifying likeness. He stood back and watched the girl get into a car, presumably with her father. Curiosity drove John to his car, where he followed the couple.
