McGuirk Alumni Stadium was built in 1964 and held only 17,000 fans. You couldn’t say the Minutemen are a Division I team, as the location is often somewhat empty. It’s okay to watch a game here, but in any weather, especially on cold autumn nights in central Massachusetts, it can be quite miserable. The restricted bathroom situation forces fans to use cold port-a-potties to make matters worse. The more than 50-year-old stadium received a decent renovation in 2014 but still shows its age. ⠀

Charlotte, North Carolina
Although the 49ers pack this stadium for their Conference USA games, there are high schools with bigger homes. Built-in 2011, the stadium is well-liked by supporters, but its compact size can make things feel a bit squished. This small stadium, with a capacity of only around 15,000, is below NCAA standards. But luxury boxes and seating for almost 25,000 more spectators would be added to expansion plans under consideration so that the stadium would eventually hold a roaring 40,000 seated fans.
