A Baby Deer
This lioness seemed to be surprised by this small antelope that seemed to come out of nowhere. A photographer from New York named Gordon Donovan was there to capture this moment: “It was a bizarre yet stunning sight to behold. I was excited about the lions, and when she captured the springbok, I was waiting for the kill.”

Protecting The Weak
The photographer then saw the baby get into her paws, and suddenly, taking care of the little calf! It was an even more amazing sight after realizing that this lioness was protecting the calf from the other lionesses that were planning on eating this calf! But why did the lioness protect this baby calf?
