Foxes In Greek Mythology
The fox is used as a symbol for various things in folklore and mythology. In the Greek pantheon, there is the Teumessian fox. Dionysus sent the giant fox to punish people for a crime that they committed. Amphitryon, together with his hunting dog called Laelaps, were deployed to hunt it down.
Teumessian Fox
The dog was talented at capturing pretty but found it impossible to contain the Teumessian fox. It drew Zeus’s attention, who turned both creatures to constellations: the Canis Minor and the Canis Major.
