Seaton Was Supposed To Direct
In 1964, MGM Studios announced that they will be producing The Dirty Dozen. And it was originally conceived with a different filmmaker in mind. Prior to Aldrich’s arrival, George Seaton was said to be the front-runner. Seaton’s biggest hit had been the cuddly Christmas movie Miracle on 34th Street, so his resume didn’t exactly suit the war movie template.
