Greta had been preparing for Johnny’s arrival for a while. She discovered that the neighborhood zoo was growing, getting a petting zoo and a few donkeys. Greta, our donkey enthusiast, recognized those phrases right away.

The visit, however, had to be repeatedly postponed by the zoo. At the time, Johnny was about a year old. The zoo claimed that although he was still young at heart, he behaved like an old animal. He appeared to be standing still and was moving pitifully up and down.
