“He didn’t make it home,” the officer informed William. While on duty, the cop’s son died. The police officer was clearly struggling to say these things. It was quite terrible, and William’s heart was broken. There was nothing left for him to do but listen.

William couldn’t help but feel sorry for the officer. After returning home, he was out and about, enjoying his life, but this cop had lost his kid in Iraq. You can certainly imagine just what kind of emotion was going through William at that time.
