Soldiers From The German Army With Their Donkey
We are all aware of the pivotal role that animals played during World War II. They were used to transport injured soldiers, weaponry, and ammunition between checkpoints and back to their respective hospitals. They were also employed for the purpose of clearing land. Many different types of animals were used during the harrowing events of World War II, including horses, donkeys, mules, and dogs, among others. It was clear that the troops in the photograph were well prepared for their approaching conflict; even their horse was well equipped.
A Russian Sniper
Roza Georgiyevna Shanina is the Russian sharpshooter depicted in the photo below. She served as a sharpshooter in the Russian military during World War II, and she was only one of many Russian women who served in the military at the time. She, on the other hand, was unique. She was a sniper who volunteered her services. By the end of the war, she had 59 verified kills, which was quite an accomplishment. She was sadly slain in the East Prussian Offensive in 1945, which took place during World War II.
