A Red Flag
Nancy realized that over a few weeks, Camden suddenly changed from a bubbly and playful young boy to a quiet and almost sad one. On top of that, he seems to not be able to understand their lessons because his attention is somewhere else. All of these are clear red flags for a teacher. Camden suddenly was always isolated, and the teacher know there must be a reason for this sudden change. Whenever a kid wants to be alone, trouble is generally brewing.

The Talk
Everyone knew Nancy as a warm and caring teacher who always builds a positive relationship with her students. She wanted to be as approachable as possible so that her students can talk to him about any issues or even personal problems. Because of what she observed with Caden, she decided to try to help him. When class was over, she called for Camden to ask him what’s wrong. It took a while but the boy admitted he was having issues at home. Because of the personal nature of the issue, the teacher needed further investigation to address the problem.
