In 1693, the first Amish family arrived in America, fleeing religious persecution in their home countries of Europe. Pennsylvania was their first choice as a residence because of the state’s commitment to religious liberty. The fact that they are all alive and well now and openly expressing their beliefs makes this a sensible option.

Before Marriage Sleeping Together
The Amish, in contrast to other religious organizations, allow couples to share a bed before they are legally married. The only requirement is that they must be completely dressed and able to communicate while lying in bed. This is a means for them to strengthen their relationship before they get married.
