A lot of the sports films are more than just about the game of sport but often has an inspiration and very successful storyline behind it. Honestly, we can all learn a lot from these amazing movies. Karate Kid

The Karate Kid is a classic film about bullying, growing up with a single mother as well as learning self-discipline. Mostly loved by younger viewers but will also be enjoyed by adults. The movie is as much about anger and growing up as it is about anything else, which is one of the reasons the movie is so much more than a sports movie.

Million Dollar Baby

Clint Eastwood’s 2004 boxing flick earned the Oscar for Best Picture, and we certainly understand why. No doubt a very moving and impactful film. The boxer/trainer relationship has always been an important part of the better boxing movies out there, but this movie seems to bring it up a notch.


Definitely the king of all rugby films! An amazing true story that takes place in South Africa, Invictus is a tight, directed by Clint Eastwood. Morgan Freeman plays Nelson Mandela as he helps unify the nation after apartheid, and no better way to do it through sports.

Racing Stripes

For all you horse racing fans – this movie is for you! Although Racing Stripes might be better for the younger viewers, we still highly recommend it for all ages. The story is about a baby zebra that is rescued by a retired horse trainer, Nolan. Stripes grow up among Nolan’s daughter and barnyard friends. Eventually, he is set to live his dream by racing against thoroughbreds. A beautiful and heartwarming tale that combines live-action and computer animation.

Space Jam

Everyone has heard of Michael Jordan and his amazing story, right? We’re sure you guessed by now that this is an NBA related film. You get to see how Michael Jordan teams up with the Looney Tunes. Space Jam is more of a sports film on the fun side but still perfect in every way.

Bring It On

Bring It On is not just a cheerleader comedy film, but one with energetic spirits that exceed all our expectations back in the early 2000s. With a few sequels that followed after, this one of those movies that never gets old. Especially for all the cheerleading fans, you need to watch this!

Bend It Like Beckham

Probably one of the best, inspirational soccer movies yet. A great story of two women who just want to play soccer but with the disapproval and frustration from their families and culture, they encounter many roadblocks on their journey.  The movie just has that kind of cheerful, big-hearted appeal. Bend It Like Beckham will surely be enjoyed by all ages, even if you’re not a soccer fan
