There was no way Celine Dion could have prepared herself for what she learned in 1999. She found out that Rene had throat cancer and heard that he would lose his basic living abilities as time goes by. This meant that she had to take care of him, but this was no easy feat whatsoever. Despite this, she did not hesitate to do everything in her power to help him. She wanted him to be able to live his life normally.
